I
Dangerous and volatile
Weapon of wilderness with no safety
Ready to while the hours away acting wild
Thoughts of making it rain pain, getting shifty
Trigger finger always itchy
Pressures getting steep
Darkness, stark, is deep
Getting shifty – On the creep

Out into the gritty city scape
Lungs and boots covered in soot
These sights and shapes I cannot escape
Everything everyone said is moot
Might as well have been said to a mute

I like this… You really took it there… It’s killer

It’s a harsh reality but that’s the world we’re living in. Once in a while, the institution where I work at will give us Active Shooter trainings (even if the statistics are low), but we just never know.
Nicely penned.
