• A half-mooned sunrise

      Peeks slowly over the trees

      Promise of the day ahead

      In a stealthy secret breeze

Silver and gold transfix the sky

      Atmospheric moment between two minds

      Stable or kinetic?

      Slumber or frenetic?

Suggest to sleep in or should I Carpe diem?

      Covers call in early cold

      Barefoot steps to coffee bold

Writing helps or so I’m told

But I gotta move before I’m too old

So, the list writ and grows

      Of to-do’s and ta-dah’s

      Achievements to confidence sows

      Seeds of a life

      Step by weary schlep

      Cross one off

      Move on to the next

      Till worn and vexed

Till sun is but a glimmer

      And mercury-moon begins to shimmer

      My eyes, tired and dimmer

Thus the covers @ day’s end are declared the winner.

      • Such a wonderful piece! The way this opens with the two half moons or a half mooned sun. It made me think and ponder about connection, perhaps cosmic or fated connections.

Much space to ponder on through out this piece, greetings and bright blessings, M
