Still Becoming

I sit here and wonder, where did the time go?

Memories become blurred visions and dreams became

forgotten,

but where I am today is better than where I was

yesterday and the day before that, and honestly, I’m

grateful to be alive.

I enjoy the simple things in life,

like American bald eagles that fly overhead

and the neighborhood birds that come to visit my

balcony to feast in the morning, and once more during

early evening before they return to their nests for the

night.

I enjoy the camaraderie in my small community in West

Gloucester, Massachussets.

But most of all, I am proud-proud of the woman I have

become-

stronger, wiser, still growing,

and for that I am eternally grateful.
