<p>I’d ask it to give me more time</p>
<p>so that all the happy memories feel strong longer</p>

<p>to the point my soul would feel sublime</p>

<p>if time heard my reasons</p>
<p>then all the melancholic days would be a blast</p>

<p>Perhaps it was because I was young and didn’t know </p>
<p>Or because I was depressed and at my wit’s end</p>
<p>That in making detailed plans to take my life</p>
<p>I was contradicting everything I had penned</p>

<p>I was in that dark place where I saw no light or hope</p>
<p>Unhappy with the situation I was in</p>

<p>I look up to the sky</p>
<p>and taste my freedom.</p>
<p>Like a bird who escapes its cage,</p>
<p>I soar above the tree tops,</p>
<p>relishing my release,</p>
<p>never looking back.</p>
<p>I won’t feel guilty for those still in cages</p>
<p>because I’ve learned—</p>
<p>Inspiration unlocks more doors</p>
