the intimate nature of trees
sending messages to other trees through there roots
talking quietly, lest the mortals listening will know their story
my soul whispers my dreams to their leaves
ever stoic, they never tell anyone
one might think they are lone soldiers
but this isn’t true; they are connected through their umbilicus to the Earth
they have seen eons of time
humanity but a wink on their scene
and yet they comfort us by shading us with knowledge
did you know the bigger trees always have a captain tree
and the cutest of old how they encourage the baby trees
one day, while walking through the almond orchard
Curious, I asked the trees if the farmer was a stewart
they answered yes, he takes good care of us
this is why we share our gold with him
their fruit is their treasure
they take care of us in so many ways
feeding, sheltering us, and standing as reminders
what wisdom lools like

I have often thought the same.. trees talk to each other and the earth.. the trees whisper and gossip, too.
