Writer’s Shock 

His work was discovered after he died 

books sold in millions once he was dead 
and all of the agents who never replied 
along with the publishers shrugged and said 
He was only discovered after he died...
  
If only we’d known! the literary world cried
He could have been fed, might still be alive 
big name, great brand, phenomenal success...

do writers have to suffer this fate
manuscripts stacked, fingers bleeding 
rejections choking all hope and faith?
is it karma to starve to death? 
accounts in the red?
access denied? 

the Dead-Writers-Forum in heaven smiled
money? success? book tours and TED? 
— living life on the page — 
what do you expect?
with death on your side 
you can’t be denied
the shock is a blip whereas 
here is always now
lovely words are forever
words are born to survive
